Cloud of Unknowing Series

A durational work started during a Residency in Sedona, Arizona in 2016: I am painting the cover of an influential, anonymous 14th century monastic text, Cloud of Unknowing, every year. At the same time I paint it, I follow the books meditation instructions to the best of my ability, and re-read the book. Inevitably my growth as an artist, changes in artistic materials, and reactions and experiences with this text will impact successive iterations.
