Doxology, 10 years later (+/-)
Doxology, 10 years later (+/-), is an evolving multi-channel video work in which each member of my large family—I am the eldest of nine—hums the same hymn, filmed individually, every decade since 2005. The latest three-channel version was filmed in 2005, 2015, and 2025. Layered together, their voices are both dissonant and harmonious; it is hard to tell where one person ends and another begins. I plan to film again in 2035, and every decade after. Technology will change. My own ability to make work will shift. Absences will mark those no longer with us—or those who refuse to or can't participate.
